July 2018 (210 km) After having breakfast and drinking a last Italian coffee with a view of the old town, we leave Banská Štiavnica to head towards the capital of Slovakia, Bratislava. We cross a hilly landscape to reach the capital to visit the beautiful Červený Kameň castle. We arrive in a hot heat and parked the bike we are wearing something lighter waiting for the guided tour of the manor. Beautiful and huge ancient cellars where the wine was stored both for the use of the building and for being sold throughout the territory. After the visit we leave again to arrive in a short city on the banks of the Danube where I booked at the Botel Pressburg, a hotel ship moored on the bank of the river, with motorcycle parking about 300 meters from the structure. Overnight in this hotel is very original and is just ten minutes from the historic center through a pleasant walk along the river. We take a shower and immediately go to the city center for a guided tour of the city to dine at the "Slovak Pub" on the advice of the lady at the reception. Outside the city center, an unmissable spot for both excellent Slovak cuisine and prices. We continue the evening in the wonderful atmosphere that this city assumes with the decline of darkness. Simply unique and enchanting.

July 2018 (km 295) We leave the city with a scorching heat already early in the morning to head towards the Czech Republic where we stop at Lednice to visit the splendid castle in English Gothic style and the magnificent surrounding park. It's a terrible heat so we change for the visit with light clothes and comfortable shoes waiting for the guided tour to admire the splendid boardrooms and private rooms of the prince. The interiors are beautiful, full of works of art of all kinds. Just to name one the spiral staircase of the library created from a single emptied and carved trunk, is a unique piece of extraordinary beauty. After visiting the palace we go to the immense park that surrounds the structure, with ponds, islets and a tower in the Moorish style called the Minaret. Lednice Minaret is one of the largest buildings of its kind in non-Muslim countries. It was built in Moorish style according to the project of J. Hardmuth between the eighteenth and nineteenth centuries. From the narrow tower that reaches 60 m in height you can enjoy a wonderful view. Back at the bike I take the opportunity to make a coffee with my moka before leaving. We are on the road to Prague but we both know it well and it is not worth spending a single day in the city so we opt to visit the town of Kutná Hora about 60 km from the capital. its historic center, the church of Santa Barbara and the church of Our Lady of Sedlec are part of the UNESCO World Heritage Sites. We arrive in late evening at the hotel "U Kata" a beautiful property in the historic center with free parking. Quickly showered we go down to the center for a walk just to get an idea, as tomorrow we will dedicate the morning to visit the city. We are amazed by the beauty of this place, literally enchanting by the majesty of the church of Santa Barbara, by the medieval alleys. Incredibly beautiful. We return to the hotel to dine at his restaurant apparently quite famous but unfortunately the kitchen has just closed and we can only be content with the food we have with us. For today it went like this.

July 2018 (km 230) After having had an exaggerated breakfast in the beautiful terrace of our hotel, we dedicate part of the morning to visit the historical center of Kutná Hora and its monuments. We leave to leave the Czech Republic and enter Germany where we arrive in the early afternoon in the beautiful town of Dresden where I booked a room at the "Cityherberge hotel, located near the center and with pargheggio just behind the structure. It's a terrible heat and so after a cold water shower we head towards the center. Dresden rises on the river Elbe and during the second world war (13-15 February 1945) suffered a terrible bombardment by the allied aircraft that dropped on one of the most beautiful cities in the world, 1478 tons of explosive bombs and 1182 tons of incendiary devices the signs are still visible today. Despite all the city has been rebuilt and today presents itself in all its beauty. We visit the monuments of the city and then go to the Brühlsche Terrasse, a magnificent terrace, from which you can admire the landscape of the Elbe. After crossing one of the bridges we go to the opposite bank of the river from whose bank you can enjoy a wonderful view of the historic center and its most important monuments. Now it is late and we return to the hotel where we drink a good German beer to freshen up a bit from an unexpected heat.

July 2018 (180 km) We leave the beautiful city of Dresden to arrive at another architectural and historical jewel of Germany, the town of Wittenberg Unesco heritage where I found accommodation at the boarding house Alabama. The history of the city and its importance is linked to the figure of Martin Luther and the Protestant Reformation. Many of the historic buildings are related to that time and the Augustinian monastery in which Luther lived first as a simple monk and later as a prior, has been preserved to this day and is considered one of the main museums in the world dedicated to his figure. On October 31, 1517, Martin Luther hung his famous 95 theses on the main door of the Schlosskirche, against the sale of indulgences, which was placed as the starting date of the Protestant Reformation. In this church today is his tomb. The historic center of the city, the cathedral and its colorful houses are of extraordinary beauty, also a magnificent sunny day. After visiting the museum dedicated to Martin Luther we end the evening in a small restaurant near the square based on local specialties.

July 2018 (380 km) The lady who runs the pension makes us find an excellent breakfast. Once the motorbike is loaded, it starts towards Poland. Before arriving near Berlin we stop in Potsdam to visit the magnificent Sanssouci Palace (from the French sans souci, "without worries") which is located in the eastern part of the park of the same name and is one of the most famous castles of Potsdam, capital of Brandenburg. Between 1745 and 1747 Frederick II the Great, King of Prussia, had a small summer residence built in rococo style, on the basis of sketches designed by himself and then expanded over the years with other castles and various structures. Today the castles and gardens of the Sanssouci Park have been included by UNESCO in the list of world heritage sites. Walking through the avenues of the park is very pleasant and you will be enchanted by the beauty of these places. We take part in one of the guided tours with a lot of audio guides in different languages to visit the palace with its magnificent interior. We leave Potsdam in the late afternoon to enter Poland where we stop at a McDonald's to eat something quickly for dinner. Fortunately, the temperature has dropped significantly and you do not suffer the heat anymore. We arrive in the late evening in the town of Świnoujście where the ferry will leave for Trelleborg in Sweden at 07.30 am. Fortunately we find a room in the small hotel right in front of the entrance to the port. Finally we can rest a bit.

July 2018 (km 25) One hour before departure, we board the ship that will take us back to Sweden. Once on the bridge we go to the ship's restaurant for the last breakfast of this wonderful trip on the road. The crossing is very quiet and punctual at 16.30 we disembark at Trelleborg. A few kilometers and we are at home. Holiday finished but like any good biker I start planning the next adventure on the road
