New Motorcycle Tour of Ecuador

New Motorcycle Tour of Ecuador

Submitted by OWD News on Saturday, 25 February 2012

For the past three years, Ecuador Freedom Bike Rental—the country’s first world-class motorcycle rental and tour operation—has been busy scouting out the best motorcycle roads, biker-friendly accommodations and the most exciting things to see and do in Ecuador. They have combined their accumulated knowledge into a year-round offering of guided and GPS self-guided tours.

The company announced an expansion of their tour operations to include a brand-new, 16-day, mostly asphalt tour that offers everything a motorcyclist craves: fantastic roads through the Amazon Jungle, over the Andes, along the Pacific Coast, and across Ecuador’s grasslands and deserts. The Intimate Ecuador Tour is an “insider’s” tour where riders explore heritage cities, towns, cultures, archeology, and wildlife while offering tantalizing cuisine and amazing hotel accommodations. Guides are full-time residents of Ecuador who will proudly introduce you to their favorite ‘secret’ places along a journey of almost 1500 miles where each turn in the road presents a new majestic view of fabulous terrain.

BMW chose Ecuador as the testing ground for its GS model prototypes in 1980 because of the diversity of terrain, oxygen content and types of road that can be reached within just hours. Ecuador is known as the “South America in Miniature” because it has the variety of climates, terrain and cultures of an entire continent, packed into a country that can be explored in just 16 days.

As the first motorcycle tour operator in this South American country, Ecuador Freedom Bike Rental has been creating riding adventures since 2009. The intimate knowledge of their local guides is one of the things that sets Ecuador Freedom apart from the competition, who often simply ship bikes and guides in from other countries and cultures. For those new to riding outside of their home region, this outfitter’s extensive shop will ease any concerns you might have with their orientation of the bikes, local customs, and the riding etiquette of Ecuador. Further details and imagery can be found on their tour page.
